As many of you have noticed, the Rock-it! Rant is no more… If you’ve been one of the many people wondering what happened, please read what our friend Dj Solarz has to say in this official statement.

Solarz here and first things first I need to say thank you to everyone who watched the ROCK-IT! RANTS, chimed in from time to time in the comments section and generally supported what I was doing. The rants became so much more popular than I’d ever expected and I’m still amazed by the overwhelming positive feedback received not only from DJs, but common folks as well. Unfortunately not all the feedback was positive. More importantly, the “not so positive” feedback was coming from people close to me and those affiliated with the ROCK-IT! SCIENTISTS brand. Concern was expressed over the rants negative effect on the brand we’d all worked so hard to build. Although I saw quite the opposite effect taking place, the ROCK-IT! SCIENTISTS are much bigger than just me and I had to take their feelings into consideration. I officially stopped recording the rants in mid September and don’t intend to bring them back…..HOWEVER, I am exploring other mediums for similar projects and will keep the REMIX REPORT community posted as to what direction I take.

As of now, I’m leaning towards a weekly Podcast targeted strictly towards DJs. Kind of a “Clubbers Commute……DJ Edition”. Something you could throw on the old iPod as you head to and from work on the weekend. I’d still be talking shit about all kinds of things, maybe interviewing some random people and going over some music that needs (not?) to be played. The biggest difference from ROCK-IT! RANT will be how the show is marketed and pushed out to the masses. There will be no “ROCK-IT!” in the name….Instead it will likely have a generic title….hosted by yours truly…Etan Solarz (…yes, that’s my real last name…. first name is pronounced like the singer “Akon” but with a “T” rather than a “K”). There are heaps of great topics to discuss and let’s be real….as a DJ…do you really want to throw on MORE music after being in an insanely loud club for 4 hours as you drive home semi-drunk? Of course not! That’s where my beautiful voice can swoop in and soothe those ravaged ears

I’m open to other ideas or suggestions so please leave a comment and let’s keep ranting! (….just under a different name….kinda….well, ya know.)
