Episode 087 – Dynamite (Anthem Kings Surprise Remix)

August 30th, 2010 5 comments

The Anthem Kingz have been on a roll lately, constantly putting out club bangers and quickly becoming the go-to remixers on Crooklynclan.net.  This time they took Taio Cruz’s smash “Dynamite” and blended it with an nice instrumental version of “Don’t Stop Believing.”  It works best around the end of the night, but if you can read your crowd right, you may be able to sneak it in earlier.  Take a listen to Spring’s mixing example!

Episode 084 – One (Four Color Zack Remix)

August 23rd, 2010 No comments

Swedish House Mafia’s “One” has been the biggest house song of the summer, but working it into your set in an open format club has been tricky.  Pharell’s “Your Name” version has been great, but Four Color Zack really hit it on the head with his edit which acts more like a party break.  It’s worked great for us.  You can find it on the DJ City record pool (www.djcity.com/digital).

Episode 081 – Crowd Motivator (FnDannyboy Remix)

August 17th, 2010 1 comment

FnDannyboy has been making dope remixes for a while now and recently released FUYA House Breaks Vol. 1 which is a well thought out set of classic tracks which have been reworked into clean, useful house remixes.  FnDannyboys production is on point with all 5 tracks in this volume, but we’re going to highlight his remix of the Croolyn Clan & Dj Ace classic, “Crowd Motivator”.  He speeds it up from 108 to 130BPM and extends it into a longer house format.  While he leaves most of the original track intact, he does add some chops in the breakdown section giving it a disco house feel.

Episode 080 – I Like It (The Remixes)

Song: I Like It – Enrique Iglesias ft. Pitbull

Enrique Iglesias is setting himself up for a comeback with his new hit “I like It” which is quickly gaining club and radio play. Featuring Pitbull on the track wasn’t a bad move at all. We can always use more Pitbull in our sets… lol But in all seriousness, this song is on the fast track and works for all age groups, from school dances to wedding to pool parties. These are a few of the remixes we found that we liked the best.

Episode 078 – Pretty Boy Swag (Steve1der Remix)

August 2nd, 2010 2 comments

Nobody really like Soulja Boy’s newest song “Pretty Boy swag,” but some of us may still have to play it from time to time.  So, because of that hopefully rare occasion, we thought we give you the best remix of the song we could find.  The remix is done by none other than Steve1der of “Conga Shake” fame and we think you’ll like it way more than the original.

Episode 064 – No Diggity (Dj Katch Reggae Refix)

June 21st, 2010 1 comment

Today we’re talking about a hot new remix from Frankfurt, Germany’s Dj Katch.  It a reggae reaffix of the classic 90’s RnB track, No Diggity (one of my favorites – JD).  He chopped up a hip-hop song, the name of which is slipping my mind, and made it into a reggae beat that fits perfectly with the No Diggity acapella.  A great addition to your reggae or 100 BPM set!

Episode 060 – Show One Love

June 7th, 2010 2 comments

Today we’re highlighting a very creative remaining of Swedish House Mafia’s “One.”  Hardwell, who you know from the “Be vs Show Me Love” remix, re-pitched the synth line from “One” to make it mimic “Show me Love.”  Incredibly creative and instantly recognizable to listeners.  Now, who’s gonna put the acapella over it??

Some re-pitched/transposed melodies we’ve done:
