Weekend Weapons + DJ Kontrol & Lil Jon Mixtape!!

March 19th, 2011 No comments

First up, our friend DJ Riddler is back with some new heat just in time for Miami Music Week/Ultra Music Fest.  Riddler says, “The First record is my first Collabo remix with Australian DJ/Producer Tom Piper.  Hot Rod “Dance With me” on G-Note Records (50 Cent’s new dance label).  The Second track I did is actually a bootleg that I made for WMC and kinda sums up what Miami is like.  It sounds perfect for the upcoming Miami Madness.   Tom and I will have more stuff in the future and as always feedback is appreciated.”  Here you go:

DJ Scene is also back this week, with what I feel is his best uptempo remix yet!   Scene flipped the Jeremiah and 50 into an amazing 128 BPM electro beast.  I love the arrangement of this track and it also includes some dope vocal chops.

Jeremiah ft. 50 Cent – Down On Me (DJ Scene Remix) — DOWNLOAD HERE

In addition to that, Scene also did this uptempo flip of the classic Hip-Hop collabo “The Crooklyn Dodgers”.  Definitely something true hip hop heads should appreciate it — and now thanks to Scene, we can play it in the club today!

Next up, our buddy DJ Trayze just finished a new bootleg — it’s Nicki Minaj’s “Did It On Em” over laid over “Let’s Go” by Dem Slackers.  Perfect for those of you who don’t like this track at 78 BPM!

This one here is from our homie out of Pittsburgh, DJ Digital Dave.  He took Green Velvet’s “La La Land” and threw it over Deadmau5′s (pronounced Dead-Mow-Five) “Sofi Needs a Ladder” and its appropriately titled “La La Ladder”.  Check it out!

Also this week, Macrus McBride makes a return appearance.  Marcus told us, “This is another reworking of an early 90′s club anthem; this time around it’s Bizarre Inc’s “I’m Gonna Get You”.  Nothing bonkers or anything on this particular remix.  Just a subtle modern day reworking of this little gem.”  Enjoy!

Finally, DJ Kontrol & Lil Jon are proud to present this new mixtape “The King of Crunk & The Remix Junkie”.  Kontrol has definitely been on his grind, and all his remix work with Lil Jon has paid off for sure.  Below are the audio links as well as well as the DVD version with Videos/ Visuals put to all of the tracks on the Mixtape:

Happy St. Patty’s Day from DJ Phase

March 16th, 2011 2 comments

Tomorrow is one of the biggest party days of the year, so we know most of you guys/girls are gonna be working. It goes without saying that you better have “Jump Around” ready to play, but for those of you who like to mix in a little dubstep, we figured this may be the version for you. Our friend DJ Phase was made this version of The House Of Pain classic and explains, “Of course its ‘Jump Around’, but it breaks down into dubstep for about 48 seconds. Which in most mainstream clubs, that’s about how long I can get away with dubstep.” Enjoy, and make sure to say thank you to Phase!!

House Of Pain – Jump Around (DJ Phase Dubstep Break RMX) — DOWNLOAD HERE

Also, we thought you may wanna see last year’s St. Patrick’s Day vid again, and get reacquainted with some of the popular holiday tunes!

Weekend Weapons!

Gonna start off this week with a track that JD and I made over a year ago. We had posted this towards the beginning of the site, but it was mentioned again during out Wonderwall Playlist Vid — so here it is again:

Oasis – Wonderwall (DJ JD & DJ Jay Spring “Wonderwall Announcement Remix”) — DOWNLOAD HERE

Also, here is the “Hypnotize” edit JD did that was mentioned in our Hypnotize Playlist Vid.  This is another Aca-Out version, but different than what was posted last weekend.  Enjoy!

Next up, is a sick blend from The Windy City Syndicate (out of Chi-Town for those who don’t know what “The Windy City” is).  WCS is made up of Dante The Don and Bobby Lite – they took the unplayable  ”No Hands” , and laid it perfectly over “Take Over Control”.   Now it’s perfect for your upbeat set!

Wacka Flocka Flame – No Hands (The Windy City Syndicate “No Hand Control” Remix) — DOWNLOAD HERE

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

This next remix was sent to us from our friend Mo Rada.  It’s a dope upbeat remix of “Black and Yellow” that he made with his partner DJ Cova.  This has been getting alot of notice, and moving up the charts on RatedH.net.

Now, for all the Drum N Bass heads, here’s a crazy remix of “All of the Lights” by DJ@War.  Although this one clocks in at 164 BPM, you can obviously play it at 82 as well.  This is the second DNB mix ever posted on our site, so we definitely wanna hear some feedback, and let us know how you feel about this.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Here’s one from our boy Michael Gloria.  This is his take on Lady Gaga’s latest radio smash “Born This Way.”  Mike’s been real consistent lately, and people are definitely starting to notice!   This is another dope remix from him.

Finally, here’s a meaningful production from Brian Armand of The ElektroKatz.  Brian explains, “I remixed Bill Withers “Aint No Sunshine” last November 2010. I was at my parents house, and thier alarm clock went off early one morning with this song playing, and I already had the remix playing in my head as I listened to the original. Within a couple of hours I had a rough draft of where I wanted to go with the remix, however after the week of finishing the remix, I put it aside to work on other stuff, planning on going back to it, to change the melody and other things within my remix. Months went by, and I still kept it in the back of my mind that I wanted soon to re-fix my remix of this track. On Saturday March 5th, my Grandmother passed away, and this song re-played in my mind, really for the words, and for how close I was with her thru the years, the words of this song mean a lot to me, so for the first time I decided to release my remix today. She was alive and well when I made it, and as a loving tribute to her, I decided to leave it as I made it back in November 10′.”

Weekend Weapons: The Official KILLER Mixtape, DJ Deville, and MORE!!!!!!

February 25th, 2011 3 comments

“Killer” is here!!!!!!

….and to help promote the record, JD and I made The Official Mixtape which you can DOWNLOAD HERE FROM OUR BEEZO PAGE.   The mix includes a wide variety of recent electro, mostly from names you know.  Along with “Killer”, it also features The Disco Fries remix of “BRRRAT!”, DJ Enferno‘s remix of “Kick Us Out”, and the latest from Jump Smokers, “Digital Biebs”.  (The transition from “Digital Biebs” to Afrojack’s “Funk With Me” is one of our favorite parts of the mix!)    It does get a little more “commercial” towards the end, but we used some pretty sick remixes keep things interesting.   Hopefully you guys enjoy the mix and the song “Killer” itself.  If you like tune, please support the record by purchasing it on Itunes or Beatport!!

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

A Big “Thank You” from DJ Deville!!

Next we have a nice little group of tracks from our friend DJ Deville.  He really appreciates your support and was extremely honored that you guys voted him The 2010 Remix Report Remixer Of The Year.  So as a thank you, he wanted you guys to have some of his newer productions and club re-edits (SIX in all!!)

Deville can’t stress enough how much he appreciates all your support, and I know I speak for all club DJs when I say we really appreciate the quality work Deville does.  CHECK OUT HIS LATEST REMIX HERE of Martin Solveig’s “Hello”.  This tune is a huuuuuge record and Deville murdered this remix!  It just went on CrooklynClan.net yesterday so if you like, make sure to cop the mix from the site!

If you haven’t seen our interview with Crooklyn Clan’s DJ Riz, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?? LOL.  Seriously — A must see!  In that interview, he mentioned that he was working in the studio with Chris Moody.  Chris writes, “Riz and I have been friends for a long time so we decided a few years ago to produce some Disco house records.  Riz happened to be at a lounge one night in NYC and heard a DJ play Daddy Cool. He was shocked he was playing it and that’s when the light bulb went off.  I was sold on the record as soon as I heard it, so we hit my studio and made it happen. We were also amazed how crazy Boney M was back in his prime and became instant fans.  We had “Daddy Cool” finished for a year and had plans on releasing the record in June, but unfortunately Farrell passed away in December so out of respect we wanted to release it now.  We loved how the track turned out and knew that we had to have a killer video to go with it. I asked a friend of mine to put together something that would really show the spirit of Boney M. We loved the initial cut, and were completely unaware, until a few days later, that the footage was taken from Roger Sanchez’s “Turn On The Music” video. Surprisingly enough, Roger had hired Farrell to appear in the video a few years back, so we used the footage to tip our caps to both Roger and Boney M. The ironic part is that I signed with Stealth in November and Riz and I have been friends with Roger for years.  Some things are just meant to be.”

______________________________________________________________________________

And we’re just getting started.  Next up from our buddy DJ Digital Dave, we have a dope mash of Travis Porter’s super slow hit “Make It Rain” on top of Afrojack’s “Diehard”.  Dave says, “This track is blowing up but the original is rough to play in a club not to mention most clubs don’t even want it played.  This version has been working great for me in big rooms and it gets really serious at the second chorus.”

Travis Porter – Make It Rain (DJ Digital Dave Remix)   — DOWNLOAD HERE

________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Here’s another nice “Make It Rain” blend for your crates, this time from our boy DJ Phlipz.   Phlipz laid the Travis Porter acapella over Alvaro’s “Work Your Body” and it definitely adds some much needed life to the track!

This next weapon is The Scene Kings‘ remix of one of the biggest house songs of the moment, “Hello”.  Dennis and John of the Scene Kings are starting to become regulars in the Weekend Weapons section and promised us that they have plenty more coming soon!

Martin Solveig ft. Dragonette (The Scene Kings Nu Disco Remix)   — DOWNLOAD HERE

________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Like The Scene Kings, Marcus McBride ,of Full Tilt Remix, has also been sending us a good amount of quality tracks to share with you guys.   Marcus told us, “This one’s an update on LA Style’s “James Brown Is Dead”, one of my favorite old school pop/rave tracks from the early 90′s.  This one’s coming up on it’s 20th anniversary so I figured a modern take on it couldn’t hurt.  Crazy thing is that a good chunk of the stems for this one (synths, vox, etc) are actually ON the commercial CD-single that was released by Arista back then.

Speaking of Weekend Weapon regulars, DJ Geometrix is back again with a much needed uptempo remix to the new Mike Posner!  Geometrix is quickly making a name for himself in the production world, and getting some help from one of the best in the game doesn’t hurt either.  He told us, “Finally finished my latest remix and I’m very excited to share it with you.  I just created a big room house remix of Mike Posner’s Bow Chicka Wow Wow that I worked on all week last week.  Shout outs to DJ Enferno for helping me out on the mixdown & mastering.  Gave me some great tips and advice during that process.”

Moodswing360 DJ and Shrine regular Jason Smith provides us with a dope remix of what may be come another classic by Cee-Lo.   Like it says on the promo graphic – “Hope you all enjoy…if not F*** YOU!”

Our friends Brass Knuckles are back with some new heat.  Here’s their remix of Afrobeta’s “Playhouse”.  Brass Knuckles got quite a few votes last year for Best New Remixer in The Remix Report Awards and we have a feeling 2011 is gonna be a big year for them!

Finishing off this week’s batch of weapons is the latest remix of Britney’s smash, courtesy of our friends from the south — DJ Supersede and Nick Morrison of The Miami Ski Team.  You know the Ski Team always do quality work and this is no exception.   This is one of the best remixes we’ve heard of this track so far, and the Dub Step break is AMAZING!!!

Also from the Deville, here’s a few older ones that he wanted you to have. Both of these still work great in the club!

Now for those of you who watched last week’s Playlist Wednesday episode about how we play Kesha’s “We R Who We R”, you saw that Jay Spring’s example used Jay Velar’s mix of the song. Well, since that remix is no longer on CrooklynClan, Jay was nice enough to share with everyone – including his personal edits not included in the original zip!

Jay says, “I name my personal edits kinda weird (see below), but i found it works for me lol.”

(MI)= Mix in, (MO) = Mix out, (LI)=Loop in, (QH)= Quick Hitter
(FM)=Full Mix”

Weekend Recap: Only The Good Die Young

December 28th, 2010 3 comments

Sometime around the holidays last year, I was setting up at Scorpion Bar, when I got a visit from my buddy Joe Perry (the head bartender there). He was real excited about receiving DJ Hero, and he said to me (half joking/half serious), “Now we can talk shop!!” I still remember that convo very well, and that phrase stuck in my head — so when JD and I started Remix Report a couple weeks later — that became our slogan. Remix Report: “Where DJs Talk Shop.” Unfortunately, while doing site work at JDs last weekend, we discovered the sad news via Facebook. Joe Perry had passed away unexpectedly. Neither of us could believe it — definitely waaaaaay too soon.  It seems like whenever someone passes, the words “well-liked” are always thrown around.  However, Joe really was that guy, and during his time at Scorpion Bar, he was loved by everyone and voted Employee Of The Year by the staff.  While his funeral was held on Sunday, his memory will definitely live on. And his quote will always be on the banner of our page. Rest in peace Joe Perry.

Weekend Weapons

What’s up everyone….Here’s FOUR dope tracks for you this weekend:

First up, DJ Mike Gloria of the Ny Hitmen is grinding real hard these days, and he’s back with another dope remix.   This time, he remixed the new David Guetta single featuring Rihanna.   It’s starting to get a good amount of play, so here’s another option for your set.

David Guetta ft. Rihanna – Who’s That  Chick (DJ Mike Gloria Club Remix)   —-     DOWNLOAD HERE

Next, our buddy Joey C of Mash Up Mafia sent us his redrum of the latest Bruno Mars smash, “Grenade”.  Don’t forget to check out Joey’s vids regarding The Bridge on our site the past couple weeks.  Also, make sure to peep HIS BLOG.

Bruno Mars – Grenade (DJ Joey C Remix) —-   DOWNLOAD HERE

Our third remix comes from Pittsburgh’s Digital Dave.   This is a dope Bmore/Hype Mix of Pink’s hit “Raise Your Glass”.   Definitely gives the track some much needed energy.

Pink – Raise Your Glass (Digital Dave Remix) ——- DOWNLOAD HERE

Finally, our last mix is provided by our friend DJ Manik.   This is courtesy of his new group “DIGITUNE” and its their take on BEP’s new monster “The Time”.

Weekend Weapons — DJ Scene and Julien Creance!!

November 27th, 2010 No comments

Two dope new tracks for your gigs tonight!

First, from our homie DJ Scene — who has been consistently putting out uptempo remixes to down-south songs that desperately need them.  Here’s his latest remix, to “Black and Yellow”.  Scene bumps this one up from 82 to 128 BPM.  It’s especially useful when club owners don’t like any down-south Hip Hop :)

Wiz Khalifa – Black and Yellow (DJ Scene Remix)      DOWNLOAD HERE

Next, Julien Creance presents his remix to Bob Sinclar & Sean Paul’s “Tik Tok” (Sexiest Wine).  Mr. Creance (out of France) has had quite a year in 2010, and built a nice reputation off of the quality electro remixes he’s been releasing.  This is another dope one.
